1000m Open Ocean Swim

The 1k swim takes place in the waters of the Port Authority Beach in Piti. There will be two 500m loops.

27Km Mountain Bike

The bike course begins in Piti and climbs up Nimitz Hill, through the technical terrain of Mt. Alutom then winds its way back via Mannengon Hills.

7Km Trail Run

Undoubtedly the highlight of the XTERRA Guam course, the trail run has quad burning climbs, slippery water falls and waist-high jungle river sections. If you're not breathing too hard, you can hear the bamboo trees creaking in the jungle.

You will need the GoogleEarth application to view the maps.

Swim notes
The water is practically room temperature so there is absolutely no wetsuits allowed.

Bike notes
The bike course will be open for pre-rides up to a week in advance. Although there are a lot of paved road sections, the technical terrain can be a bit challenging so exercise caution. Additionally, you will have 3 hours from the start of the race to reach T2 otherwise you will not be allowed to finish the race.

Run notes
Most of the run course is on U.S. military land and will be closed until the day of the race. A word of advice when reaching the waterfall section: follow the water flow path. The surface beneath it is more porous and less slippery. When you come to a slippery area that is unavoidable - sit on your butt and slide down.
